THE JOURNEY

From the heart of nature...

Throughout the rolling hills of the Dodeconese Islands of Greece grows the wild Blue Sage in sparse patches across the arid landscape.

Shipped through Europe...

From here, the tea makes its away by rail across Europe to the aged city of Amsterdam where a vessel, destined for New York City, awaits her cargo.

Picked by hand...

It was here where the first batch of Blue Sage Tea was hand-picked straight from the wilds.  Always natural, always pesticide free.

Across the Atlantic...

As the Sage makes its way across the mighty Atlantic, it is not long before the Statue of Liberty begins to show on the Horizon.

Prepared for a journey...

The Sage is greeted on the mainland by an old friend, a family-owned processing facility that has been handling Sage for generations.

Packaged in the USA

Once the tea arrives safely in the USA, as fresh as the day it was picked, we begin packaging and development of new product lines.

JUST WHAT IS THIS "BLUE SAGE" STUFF, ANYWAY?

FAMILY - LAMIACEAE

Lamiaceae is the Family classification for flowering plants with mint as their primary essential oil.  These plants tend to create a very pleasant aroma and have long been used as ingredients in home remedies to speed healing of stomach aches, headaches, and respiratory illnesses.

GENUS - SIDERITIS

Plants of the Sideritis Genus are commonly referred to as "Mountain Tea," or "Ironwort," and are Medicinal Herbs.  The term "sideritis" directly translates to "he who has the iron" and relates to the use of such plants to stave off infection in wounds wrought with iron weapons.

SPECIES - SYRIACA

The Syriaca Species is perhaps best known for its proclivity for growth, reproduction, and resistivity to climate.  Many plants in this species group are considered "weeds" due to their advanced ability to replicate and dominate an ecosystem, even in the most inhospitable climates.
